A Few Updates 12/29/06

Dad Update
I’d like to thank all of your for keeping my Dad in your thoughts. He had the heart surgery yesterday to freeze a portion of his heart that caused the erratic rhythm. He had a choice of 1) having the surgery or 2) being on medication for the rest of his life and risking the possibility of stroke. The Dr. called me after the surgery and said it went well and that he could go home that evening.

Stitching Update
Sadly, I haven’t done any stitching since before Christmas. I only have the backstitching to do on the hummingbird bookmark and it’ll be done. I’m excited that I’m very close to finishing my Project Challenge. Only two more projects to go.

Dating Update
I had my fourth date with D. He asked me last night if I was starting to forget how to open doors yet. Not only does he open the car door for me, he also offers his hand to help me out of the car. :) While at the movie theater, he held my hand the entire time and offered his jacket when I had gotten cold. He even offered to hold my purse while I was putting on my purse out in the lobby. What a guy, eh? We had a little surprise when we got back to his car, though. He got a parking ticket for backing into a parking space that was ‘head in only’. Oops.

I'm so relieved that your Dad seems to be doing fine.

My DH used to hold the doors open for me all the time too - three kids later, he forgets sometimes nowadays, but he is still the most considerate man I've ever been with. So your door-holding, hand-holding, stay-with-you-at-the-hospital guy sounds like he's got the right stuff. ;>

Good news on your Dad's surgery. I hope that this does the trick for him and keeps him from having further issues. D. sounds like a truly wonderful man, Meari. I'm glad that you found him and I hope that you are able to hang on to each other. :) What a great way to sail into 2007, eh?

I'm glad your dads surgery went well and hope that with this behind him he doensn't have any more problems. D sounds like a good guy, very few guys I meet anymore seem to think those type of thoughtful actions are necessary. Sounds like 2007 may be a good year for you in a couple of ways. Looking forward to seeing your finished hummingbird bookmark.

I'm glad to hear that your dad is doing well, my grandfather had surgery back in August, so I know how scary it can be!

I'm right there with you on the stitchy front. I'm hoping the new year will get me back into the stitching groove.

D sounds like someone you want to hang on to. Not many guys out there that will do those things. Oops on the parking ticket.
