Monday Update 7/2/07

OK, where did June go? Hard to believe we're already in the middle of summer!

Health
I had an appointment with the Ears, Nose & Throat doc last week. He confirmed what my primary doctor told me "Yup, your tonsils are unusually large." LOL, I knew that! Rather than rush to take them out, he wants to make sure my sinuses aren't causing a residual effect on my tonsils. So, I have an appointment for a CT scan in a couple weeks and then get to see him again.

I think S gave me his cold. Two nights in a row I've been running a fever. One night I had chills and fever. Boy was that ever fun!! My head is congested and today I went home from work early. I slept for three hours. I don't feel too bad if I take cold meds (the good stuff they keep behind the pharmacy counter... LOL), but when it wears off I feel like a truck ran me over. Side Note: I've been getting a head rush from blowing my nose so much. (Blame that comment on the meds!)

Car
What now? Found this when we got into the car on Sunday. S tried to fix it but the adhesive wouldn't bond. We're thinking the temp of the windshield was WAY too HOT. I can't get the car into the auto glass place until Friday, so meantime the mirror is just free hanging. I'm afraid that one of these times, I'm going to hit a bump or something and the darn thing is going to biff me in the side of the head!

Weekend Fun
The weather was beautiful... Temps were in the upper 70's/lower 80's, light breeze with no humidity. Perfect!

On Saturday, S and I went to Lowell Park and had a picnic. We had a great view of the Rock River... After lunch, we sat on a blanket while watching the boats and jet skis cruise up and down the river. (Pics of the park: 1, 2, 3) While S went for a bike ride, I worked on Victorian Pansies scissor fob. I have all the stitching and backstitching done for the front of the fob. I'll be working on the back next.

On Sunday, S took me to "America's Little Switzerland". I've driven through the town at least a dozen times, but never knew it had such a neat downtown area. We walked throughout the town, sightseeing. Of course I had my camera and took lots of PHOTOS! We had an early dinner at the New Glarus Hotel & Restaurant which at one time was an opera house. In keeping with the ethnic flair, I ordered Sauerbraten which was the special. It was beef marinated in burgundy wine then roasted, and served with gravy over top. It came with spaetzle (little dumplings) and red cabbage. S opted for a "safe" meal of fried shrimp and potatoes with cheese. We had a really fun day!
