Rest In Peace

After almost of year of dealing with an uncooperative, unsupportive, mind of it’s own cell phone, I decided to put it to rest. It now makes a good paperweight if you have silver and blue décor. And if you really get bored, you can play the cell phone version of spin-the-bottle just by flicking the little antenna that sticks out the top. Endless source of entertainment.

I am now the owner of a spankin’ new Motorola ROKR Z6m! Crafted of metal, stainless steel and glass, it’s quite the phone for a techno-geek like me. (These photos really don't do it justice) Inside it’s got stereo Bluetooth, camera/camcorder, streaming music player, downloadable and side-loadable (from a PC) music and video, built-in memory, plus a removable memory card. It also came with stereo headphones, wall charger, and an SD card reader for direct photo printing. The camera has 4x digital zoom and automatically switches from portrait to landscape viewing when you flip the phone on it's side. I like the fact that I don't have to flip open the phone (like my old one) or slide it open in order to answer a call. Calls can be answered opened or closed. Text messages can be read while the phone is closed, too.

I think I’ll give up playing spin-the-bottle with my old phone (It’s no fun playing alone, anyway.) and play with all the features of my new phone.

Congratulations on your new phone! Once at a convention when my husband was looking for a hammer, the guy from con ops offered him an old Nokia phone instead. Ha! Phones only last so long and then they are really beat up and out of date. I LOVED my Sharp phone from T-Mobile when I got it four years ago, but after only six months T-Mobile didn't support it anymore. I could never download games or get much out of its internet interface. They said it was a smart phone, but I think it had an IQ of 12. I couldn't wait to get rid of it when the iPhones came out. I still LOVE my iPhone, even though my husband is still waiting for the next generation and probably soon will have one that has twice the power and technology that mine has. Ah, and in eighteen months we will do this dance all over again.

I just got a new phone myself - an LG Chocolate. Similar to the ROKR in that it's a music phone, but it has some differences. I love it so far...haven't had to a chance to really play around with it yet, but plan on doing so soon. I need to add some music to it, and make up some fun ringtones.

New toys are fun! :-)

Nice looking phone, have fun learning how all the new bits and pieces work.

Just read the note on your dad, I'm so sorry that he is having trouble again. I hope they find a way to help him quickly and he is back home again soon. {{hugs}}

I just saw an ad on tv the other night about a place that pays for "newer" old cell phones. i sent away for a price list and will let you know what comes of it. I figure about a dollar LOL. They do give them to people/places who can use them, though.

I got the LG chocolate phone in black about a year ago.... i will never get a slide phone again. what a major pain in the butt. it look cool, but jeez!!

Just wanted to clarify that mine is a full open slide and you have to open it to answer, yours sounds like it has a better way of dealing with the issues of a slide.
LOL Didn't want to sound like a complete b****! :)
