First Snow of the Season

Ack! Mother Nature really decided to make it hard on us. It started snowing yesterday around 10am. Then it turned to freezing rain. Soon it was reduced to rain. I woke up this morning to an inch of ice on my driveway. I managed to shovel the sidewalk in front of the house. The neighbor guy took pity on me and helped me clear the "junk" at the base of the driveway left by the snow plows. Then he tried to snow blow the ice off the angled area of both our driveways. It totally sucked! I managed to scrape the ice left that the snow blower couldn't get so at least I can get a running start up my driveway tomorrow, and won't be sliding out into traffic. Did I say it sucks? LOL My arms and chest muscles really hurt now.... I saw on the news last night that 12K people were without power. Mine blinked out for about 10 seconds last night, but that's it. First snow of the season and it has to be ice??!

Meari just stopping to say I always read your blog. Just don't comment that often.

Here in Indiana we got some ice last night too. Not as much as you though. We warmed up just enough to do away with that. I want a layer of snow on our new lawn though. Guess I'll have to wait.

By the way your date sounded great! Good Luck!

We had ice yesterday morning. DH got up extra early to make it to work before it started (he's a weatherman) since he had to go in and relieve the overnighters.

Sorry about the yucky ice and snow but it's great you have a helpful neighbor. I am a little behind but the bathroom cabinet looks great and the date sounded nice. Don't ignore the nice guys, there may not be tons of excitement at first but they grow on you. Loved the little PS ornament you recived too.

Wish I could send you some of my 70 degree weather. I'd actually like it to be somewhat colder than it is right now, but without the snow & ice. Take care in this weather and drive safely.

Sounds like you had a nice date. We woke up to snow and ice this morning too. We had the snow yesterday but it did turn to ice. Today the weather has been messy, it's very slippery out there.

well.... today's rain should have washed most of the ice away. Would you believe I was out in the south suburbs driving in that stuff?? *eek*

For goodness sakes, Meari, don't slip and fall!! Can't you bake a pie and con your neighbor into shoveling for you??? :0
