Back with a Vengeance

Is this payback for the 40F weather we had a couple weeks ago?!? Winter is back with a vengeance.

Last weekend we had -25F windchill temps.

Yesterday, it snowed all day. After I got off work, I parked across the street so I could shovel the incline to my driveway in order to get to the garage. Thankfully, the snow was light... but still... it took me an hour. At that point there was at least 5" of snow. Once I was done shoveling, I walked across the street to get my car. What do I find?

The Packer Fan across the street decided to snow blow his sidewalk... onto MY car! There was 2" of packed snow on my car that I had to clear off.

Then it snowed all night.

Between 4am and 5:30am this morning, I hear the snow plows no less than 6 times. I thought to myself: OMG, how MUCH snow is out there?!?! So, I get up and get ready to do some shoveling. Out the door and I can't even see my steps! There had to be at least 10" of snow on the part of the driveway I didn't shovel last night. Poor Celeste bounced and jumped her way through the snow to the backyard where I kicked open a spot for her to do her "thing".

I spent a little over an hour this morning shoveling the incline again. There was just as much, if not more than what I shoveled last night. Again, it was light but *gosh* there was a LOT! After the incline was done, I decided to call the plow guy to do the rest. There was just too much snow where I didn't shovel last night. I noticed my neighbor called a plow, too. Both plows ended up pushing the snow out our driveways and all the way across the street. I'm sure that was a trick seeing as I live on a busy street!

Most of the schools in the area counties are closed. Only a few delayed school for 1-2 hours. The college is still open, though... So I guess I'll be going to class tonight.

There is an upside to all this: I'm developing quite the biceps (LOL), getting good aerobic exercise... and today the sun is shining very brightly! Any time the sun shines, it makes for a beautiful day.

I am so ready for Spring...

REVISED: I spent 45 minutes of my lunch hour shoveling snow to clean up what the plow guy couldn't get. I STILL have a bunch to go.

I am so ready for Spring...

I say hire the plow more often, and pay him extra to dump it in the a$$hole neighbor's driveway LOL

Okay - your are making me very grateful that we don't get more than an occasional flutter of snow - pretty to look at but a pain in the backside to actually deal with..

So far we here in the NYC metro area have received NOTHING compared to you poor souls over in snow country! I'm so sorry to hear you're getting pounded and having to resort to a snow plow. How rude of your neighbor!

Hopefully the snow will let up for a while. Happy belated Birthday! Sorry; I meant to send you wishes yesterday but time gets away from me too often. Hope you had a very enjoyable and relaxing day. Did you have big plans for the evening?
