Third Time's The Charm!

Ever try to drill into brick without a hammer drill? I'm here to say that an itty bitty 9v cordless drill won't do the trick. Even with a 3/8" electric drill, it's not an easy job! What am I blabbering on about?

This is what the window wells looked like when I moved in last fall:

One had two layers of covers on it, the rest had three layers. Whatever happened to taking off the bad and replacing it? In this case, whoever did them just slapped the new ones over the old ones using caulk to hold it in place. Don'tcha just love the roofing material covering one? Hmpf!

After three different tries at getting these on, I've had success! Yay!! Here's what one looks like.

I mulched around the bushes, too. Not sure if it looks good, though. Opinions?

Very nice Meari. The mulch will cut way down on your weeds and make it easier to weed if you do get some. It also helps to retain the water better. If you want more colour next time try the black, or yellow mulch. Here in Canada we have red mulch which I use all the time.

Brick is an evil thing to drill into without the right equipment. You're lucky you didn't kill the 9V drill completely!

The mulch looks great! Makes everything look finished and cared for.

Hi ya Meari...some answers to your questions on my blog. First...thanks for looking and commenting. The photo printer is an HP Photosmart 8750...it is a wide format printer...I can print up to 13x19...I use it mostly for scrapbooking. And...my wishblade is a die cutting machine that hooks up to my computer and cuts files and ANY true type font. I love my little pink machine. I use if for scrapbooking and card making. Here is a link http://www.xyron.com/enUS/Products/Xyron_Wishblade.html
Hope this answers your questions.

Looks great, Meari! I hope you haven't such messy birds at your end of the pond as we have :-) They scratch in the mulch like some crazy chickens and after they are done everything looks like a mess LOL
I will have to make sure they won't try crossing the Atlantic :-)
