Something To Ponder

You know, I was just wondering...

Why is it that if you cross the North Korean border illegally you get thrown into prison and get 12 years of hard labor;

And if you cross the Iranian border while out supposedly leisurely hiking in the hills, you get arrested and imprisoned;

But if you cross the U.S. border illegally, you get a drivers license, a Social Security card, free health care and free education!

Who's bright idea was this?

I'm just curious.

I have frequently wondered this myself.

I assume you mean into the US Meari?

It does seem a bit suspect... but then here in Canada it's just as bad... a known gangster has now managed to avoid deportation in my town four times in five years! Makes me so angry...

Hi, I just had to comment on this, you should come to the UK not only do they get all that was mentioned but free housing as well. Never mind we are suppose to love thy neighbour I only wish I knew my neighbours.

Democracy v's dictatorship. Not everything in life is black and white, I think this definatly falls somewhere in the 'gray' area.

Just the same, if not worse in the UK!

I must have missed this when first posted. While I consider myself fair, just and not prejudiced this does raise a lot of uneasy issues. I understand we are the 'melting pot' (in the US) but my parents were first generation American and we are not all speaking and reading our signs and labels in Norwegian!

I have so many comments to this one but I always keep them to myself for fear of pissing people off.

I'm with ya on this one and best not say anymore or I'm sure I'll get someone irritated.

You don't get a social security number and free health care in every state ;-)
