Marvelous Monday Update 9/20/10

Can we say TGIM??! Thank goodness it's Monday. And that is reason enough for it to be a marvelous one! If you're wondering why I'm happy it's Monday, read on...

SCHOOL
This is the #1 reason! This past weekend was *REALLY* stressful. Two chapters of reading, two chapters of homework, a take-home test, three revisions to the group project paper, and creation of talk points for the power point presentation. Add to that back-and-forth emails amongst my team members "bickering" about various additions/deletions to the paper. Oh, and let's not forget that this week my group is up to bat (first) for presentations. At the same time, I'm working two jobs! I just... have... to... survive... two more weeks.

I know what you're thinking: "Quit yer whinin'!"

STITCHY STUFF
A couple weeks ago, I found out that I was the winner of the birthday giveaway on Stitching Devotee. Look what the postman delivered to my box:

Maggee generously mailed me an envelope full of Victoria Clayton hand-dyed perle silk threads. I'm looking forward to trying these out. Thank you very much, Maggee!

Did a fair amount of frogging on TMQ this weekend. I'm blaming it on the stress of class! (That's my story) Believe it or not, I actually ran out 3328. None in my personal stash, and none in my stash-for-sale/trade bin. What an excuse to run to JoAnn Fabrics. They were having a great coupon sale (Shhhh!).

TMQ Progress AF
(after frogging)

I also worked a bit on my Gingerbread House ornament:

Just want to put a shout out to Pirjo (Pike Stitching) that the prize package went out in last week's mail. So start stalking the mailman! LOL

That's all for now!

Good Morning! Love the blog as usual.

The TMQ project is gorgeous Meari; love the colors and the sampler itself; I am a sampler gal! lol

Your gingerbread ornie is so cute!!! Looks terrific.

School sounds like it has really run you ragged this weekend; don't blame you for 'venting'!!!!

Sounds like school was a wee bit stressful for you. Hang in there, I hope all goes well, your stitching is coming along nicely!

Man, I bet you can't wait for school to be over.
Sorry to hear about the frogging. Your ornament is going to be so cute.

Dear Meari
What lucky finds I love a bargain.I could not find my magnetic board and as I know there are no shops in Saudi selling one I had to improvise . I now use an aluminium swissroll (jellyroll) tin found in the bakeware section of my local supermarket. I think it is nicer than my old board as it has nice round edges and works like a tray.

Your afghan is gorgeous where is the pattern from?

Hugs
Denise

sorry to hear school was so stressful.
Love the goodies you won in the giveaway.
Sad to hear about frogging....hate that too....haven't done lately (fingers crossed).
Gingerbread is coming along nicely.
Have a better week.

Nice birthday giveaway from Maggee!

TMQ is looking great - shame about the frogging.
Do you actually need a excuse to go to JoAnn's? I have a very long shopping list for my Florida trip - no excuses needed for me!

Cute Gingerbread House!

Just think one day you will be done with school. Cute ornament. It looks familiar. I am using VC premium silks for the Castle in the Air SAL. I like them, but they are a little thick for in some of the specialty stitches.

TMQ is coming along great! And the ornie is cute too! Congrats on winning Maggee's giveaway. Good luck with all your school obligations. Sounds so stressful!

Sounds like you have pretty good reasons for doing a little whining! But it'll be all done soon, just take a deep breath. Hopefully, once you've given your presentation, it'll get a little better! Cute stitching on the ornie and love TMQ!

Sounds like you had way too much school work this weekend Meari. I'm sure you'll be glad of that break in 2 weeks time!

You seem to be lucky with winning the giveaways or is that just my imagination? Anyway congrats on winning the Vikki Clayton threads. I used them on Love with a Capital L and really enjoyed working with them.

Hugs,
Lynette

All your stitching looks great, even with the frogging, like the ornament. Think you will do fine with school, two weeks is not that long.

That's right 2 more weeks! You hang in there girl. You'll do just fine I'm sure of it! Love the Ornie, and I look forward to seeing what you stitch with your new threads. Congrats!

You're entitled to whine, Meari--it really does sound like you've got way too much on your plate. I feel the same way and I just said to my husband the other night, "If I can just get through the next two weeks!"

Congratulations on your win from Maggee--what fun! And I love your little gingerbread house ornament--so cute! Hang in there... You can do it :)

School can be stressful, especially when you add everything else in life in the mix. You received a very nice package in the mail and your stitching is marvelous, as always. It was funny to hear that you, of all people, ran out of a color, but glad to hear that it doesn't happen to just me! LOL

WOW!!! What a lovely package to find in your mailbox!! I love the feel of silks, but I haven't stitched with it much! Sorry you had to frog so much. Hopefully the next 2 weeks won't be so stressful and you can really enjoy your break!! Love the ornie!!!

Hello Dear Friend! Boy have I missed you. So much has happened in the past year and I am sad to say that my stitching (or any craft for that matter) has taken a backseat to ... well life. Every now an again I will be sitting amongst my craft supplies, many still yet to be unpacked and wonder, "I'll bet Meari is working on something really pretty right now." I manage to get over here and peruse your site, though its hard to comment when you're jiggling a (now) 7-month-old on your lap. (That last time we "spoke" meaining emailed was the week before he was born!) But I'm ready to get back into it and you're my inspiration ... I'll be stopping by again soon.
