Marvelous Monday Update 9/27/10

Wow, did this month fly by or what?! September is almost over, and the fall weather has definitely set in. Cooler temps, leaves changing colors and falling to the ground, and allergies... oh what fun!

SCHOOL
Whew, describes it adequately! I wrote the paper. I was prepared. I knew how I was going to introduce "Gusto Consulting Group" (our team name). I even remembered to bring the "Drive One For UR School" tshirt that the local Ford dealership graciously donated for each of our team members. I wasn't even nervous before the presentation. Then I got up in front of the class, lol. My voice cracked, and instantly I was nervous. And it wasn't like I haven't done LOTS of public speaking before. *sigh* I felt bad for the other female team member... she broke out in hives and at the end forgot to forward her power point slides. We got through the presentation.

The instructor said we did an excellent job, and that we set the bar VERY high for the other groups who will be presenting this week.

Not only do we get graded on the presentation by the instructor, but also by the other "teams", and by our individual team members!

We have our last test this week. The other teams were complaining about how they had to give their presentation and take a test. As a team, we were pretty proud of ourselves in that we planned for that at the beginning of the semester. It's the team's choice when the presentation is given. Hee Hee, we were smart!

After this week, I'll be freeeee for two weeks! *happy dancin'*

STITCHY STUFF
I ended up re-charting the poem on TMQ because I wasn't sure it would fit in the space I had available on the afghan. Then I did some stitching. Here's my progress so far:

Other WIP pics can be seen HERE.

A shout out to Veronica... Start stalking your mailman. I sent your prize out last week. :)

Presentations can be tough, but prepare you for the challenges in life. I think most people are a bit intimidated at first.
Love to see your stitching progress also.
Hope you have a marvelous week!

Hey Meari, the TMQ is lookin' great!!!

Gosh, sounds like you did a fine job; not to worry. I know you are an excellent student and I am sure it reflected in your presentation.

Soon you will be freeeeeeee! lol

Nice progress on your stitching! I think most of us would have been nervous to have to go up in front of everyone and do a presentation. At least now it is over!

Nice progress on your stitching! I think most of us would have been nervous as well to make a presentation like that, but at least now you can say it is over and done with!

Meari, I hope you get relief to your allergies. Our twins had pretty bad allergies when they were younger and they still suffer from food allergies and dry skin. I had a bit scare last week when other of the boys ate butter at their friends house. He didn't even have any meds with him. Luckily he didn't get anafylactic shock of it like he used to when he was a toddler but he had quite nasty rash.

Your stitching looks really nice.

TMQ looks great!!! Love the song you have on your blog...NY CSI theme song!!! Gary Senise came out here to the island to perform with his band "The Lt. Dan Band" for the troops last Fourth of July...and they opened their show with this song, so now whenever I hear it, I see Gary up on stage with his base guitar just jammin' out! =)

Well done on getting through - I'm so glad I don't have a presentation to face. Just an end of course interview - about thirty minutes with two (I think) assessors. I think most people do get through, but it's still nerve-wracking...mine should be some time in November, ironically before my final exam, lol!
