Marvelous Monday Update 12/20/10

As the holiday approaches, I want to wish all my online and offline friends a very Merry Christmas. I know for some of you, this will be a very difficult holiday. I'm sending warm thoughts your way.

SCHOOL
Our instructor said he'd mail us the grades for the presentation/paper, the final exam grade, and our grade for class if we gave him a stamped self-addressed envelope.

I received an excited email from one of my group partners telling me what he got for the presentation grade. I wanted to leave work right then and there so I could go to the PO to see if my envelope was there.

Sure 'nuf, it was!

I got a 98/100 on my presentation & paper!! Overall, for the class, I got an A. Woo Hoo!!

GIVEAWAYS
Cat from Kittycat Cross Stitch is hosting a Christmas giveaway. If you're curious as to what the prizes are, give her a visit.

Nataly at New England Stitchers Retreat is also hosting a nice giveway that will end soon. So hurry!

Carolyn at Taking One Stitch at a Time is hosting a Christmas giveaway, too. Hop on over to her blog and check out her latest stitching as well.

STITCHY STUFF
Imagine my surprise when I opened a package from Canada and it contained the chart for this:

Wee Three Birdhouses

It's a good thing Donna put a note in with it because I don't even remember entering the contest on the Stitcher's Circle group. The chart came with the charms and is by one of my favorite designers, Lorri Birmingham. Thank you, Donna!

A while back, someone asked how large TMQ is. I finally got around to measuring it. It's 41 x 67" -- the largest project I've ever done. I finished most of the floral border, the branch on the right side, the pine trees on the left side, and the quilt designs between the cabins. It won't be long now!

Lastly, a bit of humor....

Kristin can probably relate to this since her family has two kitty cats.

First of all, happy dance and congrats to you for getting an A!! I knew you would/could do it.

Second, TMQ is fabulous and you'll be done before you know it and it'll be an awesome, huge accomplishment.

Third, I love the 'Santa Claws' video. Thank you so much for sharing it. I was drinking my coffee and when the kitty jumped at him through the Christmas tree I almost spit my drink all over my laptop. Thanks, I needed that, lol!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Meari,
Thanks for posting on your blog about my giveaway.

Congratulations on your A for the class. I Knew you could do it!

Your going to have fun stitching up those birdhouses.

Your TMQ is looking great. Did you get bored at times?

I love the Santa joke...Funny...

I think one reason we haven't put up our tree yet is because of the kitten Mooky. I just know something similar would happen to it. We are so reluctant.

I wish you a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

Congratulations :) Loved the cat video - reminded me of the year when our cat knocked the tree right over by trying to climb it, smashing ALL the glass baubles. Luckily he wasn't hurt! We stuck to plastic baubles after that, now luckily I've enough stitched ornies to put on our tree :)

I knew you would get an "A" Meari!! Congratulations--your hard work paid off.

I can't believe the size of TMQ! Do you use a frame to stitch that giant hunk of fabric? What a beauty it will be.

Merry Christmas!

But I really have been good. Really. REALLY. Ok, I haven't. But at least I tried.
Congrats on the great grades & stitching goodies.

Meari,

Woo hoo, how exciting -- congrats on your grade, but I'm sure you worked very hard and deserved it.

Wow, I didn't realize TMQ was that big. But it is looking so beautiful and will be well worth it when you get it finished.
