Marvelous Monday Update 3/21/2011

SIGNS OF SPRING
Temps have been higher than normal this week, which allowed me to do some yard work. I cleaned all of the larger flower beds. Look what I found one morning:

Tulips!

Not sure what these are, but they come up every spring and have little white flowers. There are a few ferns popping up, and the rhubarb (not pictured) is poking it's little red buds out also.

Since the weather was so nice, I let Celeste bask in the sun. The little snot bundle of joy decided to hide behind the swing when she saw me coming with the camera. "Na-Ne-Na-Ne-Boo-Boo, Mom!"

She really needs a trip to the groomer!

SCHOOL
*sigh* My semester starts up today, so I'll be hitting the books once again. I have the same instructor as last semester so this should be a crapppy an interesting term. The upside to this is that I know how his class works so I'm hoping I'll do well. Again, I will have another term paper to write, a quiz each week, as well as online discussions to post to. What class am I taking you ask? Oh yes. Investments. I'm looking foward to this since I've always wanted to know more about investing.

STITCHY STUFF
Hold on to your seats! I actually got out JG and worked an hour an half on it last week. I became a bit frustrated because (1) I couldn't figure out what one of the colors was, and (2) I couldn't figure out what specialty stitch I was supposed to use. Turns out that I didn't order the color when I converted the chart to other fiber brands - duh! It's ordered and on its way now. Still haven't figured out the specialty stitch. Here's what little bit I got done:

I did a little bit on Blossom Splendor... filling in missed stitches. I'm almost done with page two.

You can see all the progress pics for both projects HERE.

Until next time...

Good luck with the Investments course. I think it would be interesting to learn that stuff, but being tested on it...HECK NO!!!

JG and Blossom Splendor are growing beautifully.

Give Celeste a hug for me :)

I Love, Love, Love tulips! Unfortunately, they don't grow here. At least I've never seen any around. Pretty sure the climate is unsuitable for them.

Good luck with the new semester. JG is gorgeous. I hope you figure out the specialty stitch soon.

JG is looking great!!! Glad that is finally Spring & that your getting to work outside without having to deal with snow. I love this time of year when there is a little nip in the air in the AM but warms up nicely by afternoon. Good luck with your classes this semester. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful stitching - I'm glad you found some relaxing time to work on your pretties!
Good luck with your new school term. I would love to take a class on investments...I'd probably just learn that we've been doing it all wrong all these years. LOL

I'm not sure about your little white flowers, maybe lily of the valley? They usually bloom in May.

Good luck with the course and congrats on all your WIP's. They look awesome!

What spring? We aren't supposed to be out of the 30's for another week! It was just a tease to get a couple 50 degree days. I think JG is cursed for you! Glad you figured it out and have the replacement coming. I ended up buying a floor stand and am excited to try it out for my bigger projects!! One of these days you won't have to talk about school ever again!!!! :-)

Hope this semester goes better than the last, in spite of the instructor! Loving the spring, though it's disappearing for a while again...sigh. Love the pics and stitching!
