Marvelous Monday Update 9/12/11

... continued from last week.

I did get the clogged pipe issue resolved in my bathroom without having to snake it. Just the thought of what may have come out: Yuck! Since the water was draining s-l-o-w-ly, I decided to try another go round with chemicals. I poured Liquid Plumbr Pipe Snake down both the sink and the tub. The product *does* say multiple applications might be necessary. Second time? Score! Both tub and sink are draining normally again, and I saved about $70 from not having to call a plumber -and- didn't have to perform a real snake job. Yay!

SCHOOL
Some of you may already know (because I was practically shouting from my rooftop!) that Midterms are over. After taking the 3 hour online exam, I scored an 84. Woo Hoo! I was so exhausted afterwards, that I took Sunday off from studying. It all starts back up today after I get done with work.

GARDENING
Just some updated photos of my planters and sunflowers. Aren't they gorgeous?

Other gardening/floral pics can be seen HERE.

STITCHY STUFF
I received Part 3 of the iStitch SAL on Friday. I wasn't able to work on it until yesterday afternoon. I finished Part 3!

I also did a bit of stitching on Blossom Splendor. There were a TON of confetti stitches in this section. Here's what she looks like now:

GIVEAWAYS
Deb over at Cranberry Samplings is hosting a giveaway that ends TODAY! Hurry on over to see what it's all about.

Between Stitches is hosting a giveaway also... In honor of 100 followers.

BLOGGY BITS
Speaking of followers... Last week, I finally reached 275 followers! And, I did it the organic way. I didn't ask readers to become a follower in lieu of a giveaway -- they all followed on their own. *big grin*

I would like to take a moment to thank all my readers, and those who comment -- You really do pick me up when I need it, encourage me on, and just plain make me smile. So thank you!

In celebration of reaching the 275 milestone, I will be hosting a giveaway. I've had this giveaway in mind for months, so stay tuned! I will be posting about it shortly.

Until next time,

I love reading your blog! You always remind me how strong us women can be. Glad you didn't have to actually snake the sink though. Your flowers are beautiful. Your stitching is absolutely awesome. I love Blossom Splendour. The color are beautiful. And I am looking forward to seeing more pictures of your iSal. Seeing it on yours and a few other blogs with the different color threads is such fun. Oh and congrats on the class grade. Only a few more weeks to go!

Nice that you were able to fix this plumbing issue without having to call a plumber or having to look at the yucky goo. Fast work on part 3 or your SAL, like the color you chose as well.

It's been too long since I gushed over Blossom. She looks splendid! That blue! That purple! And those falling flowers! (or maybe they're raindrops?) Either way: stitch faster *cracks whip*

Kudos on the marks!

84? Great job! Your sunflowers are gorgeous! Beautiful colour you've picked for Carol's SAL. I see you've got quite a bit done on Blossom Splendor since your last update. I hate confetti stitches. Glad to see they're not intimidating you :)

Good job on your home plumbing fix, Meari! And great job on your exam! But, three hours--ugh!! How could you even think after the second hour...

Pretty sunflowers--our seeds were all eaten by the chipmunk population that has exploded in our garden :(

And you're still finding time to stitch! I'm always amazed at all you fit into your days, Meari :)

Love your sunflowers. Not far from here someone has some really tall sunflowers. I didn't realize they grew so tall. Nice stitching progress. Your Geisha looks beautiful.

I'm just glad I have a resident plumbing expert in the house!
Surprised that you are getting any stitching done with your classes this term. Both projects look nice. Geisha should be done in no time now. I hate those giveaways where you are supposed to "follow" them or post on your own blog! I read enough now, to have to add another that I may not want to read again!

Oh, yes the convertible crib has been a lifesaver and saved a bunch of money because they are generally about $50 more then a regular crib.
