October Already?!?

Where the heck did September go? Seems like yesterday it was September 1st and I was wondering where the summer went. Fall is definitely in the air, and my only tree in the backyard has dumped a boat load of leaves everywhere!

STITCHY STUFF
Last week, I showed you the scissors and fob I sent off to Carien. This week, I get to show you what I received in the exchange.

My first humbug scissor fob!
Thank you, Carien. It's adorable.

Over the past few months, I've noticed that my wrist has been aching. I was going to get one of those crafters gloves from the LNS that closed, but they didn't have my size. On a whim, I went to the nearest drugstore to see what they had for wrist support. I found the Ace Rejuvenating Hand Support Glove.

Isn't it stylish? LOL It's made very similar to the craft glove except it has an elastic support that wraps around the wrist and attaches with velcro. I really like this feature. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now when I'm stitching and it seems to do the trick. No more aching pain in the wrist! The best part: The drugstore had them buy one, get one at 1/2 price.

Despite my anxiety over whether I will have enough of the (discontinued) HDF silks, I am forging forward on JG. I made quite a bit of progress last week:

I would like to send out a big THANK YOU to all those who have looked through their stash to see if they had the colors I need. I have leads on some of the colors, so I am hopeful. :) Stitchers are the BEST!!!

HUMOR FOR THE WEEK
This is a snip of a real ad. I saw this and bust out laughing.

Seriously?! We all need a footstool so we have proper potty technique. Bwahahaha!
(and it's only $34.95)

Until next time,

Oy! What an ad!
I had bad pains in my wrist and fingers early this year. I bought a lap stand and no longer have the pains.
Is that little Celeste under the tree there? ♥

I can't believe all these years I have had unhealthy bathroom posture, Who Knew?? Thanks for sharing - So love your blog...

Cute exchange! I do hope that you find the threads you need. I am sure a shop somewhere has them. Bathroom posture...really? What will they come up with next?! LOL

ROFL...if I'm in the bathroom long enough to worry about my posture, something's wrong. Not to mention the $34.95 tag...seriously? Hope the wrist is better..wonder if it helps with occasional carpal tunnel? I'm with you on the days flying by...where does the time go? Nice stitching!

I knew there was a reason I still kept those step stools in the bathroom from when the girls were little! LOL.

JG is looking good. I'm sure that whatever happens with the threads you need, you'll be able to finish the project and it will look fabulous.

Love the humbug scissor fob!

When I went to your blog, I noticed that the post about your thread dilemma is dated Oct. 31, 2012. Is that blogger acting up or did I miss October too? LOL

We watch a TV show called World's Dumbest and they showed a commercial for this bathroom helper. We really enjoyed the laugh.

The scissor fob you got from Carein is beautiful. Good luck finding the threads you need.

The scissor fob is darling!

I have the crafter gloves too Meari, but I think what you bought from ACE is much better. They have a crafter glove out now that has the fingers in it also; that is what I need now for my entire fingers; they are so arthritic and I have two more triggered it would really help to have these.

I am sure your Japanese Garden will look fabulous when finished! Sorry you are having so much trouble finding the threads.

Hugs,
Sue

Hey Meari!
I am glad that you have found a slution for your wrist and that it is feeling better.
Japanese Gaden is looking great. I wish you luck finding the floss needed. I am sorry that I don't have any of this.
Have a great week!

Very stylish glove you bought Meari! I'm glad it's helping you! That humbug fob is adorable...and so tiny! JG is looking amazing. Had to laugh at that add for the "proper" way to go to the bathroom!!

So glad you found something to help with your aching wrist, Meari! I've escaped wrist problems so far (knock on wood!!)...just worry about the old eyes holding up so I can continue stitching into my old age :)

I sure hope stitchers can locate the threads for you--you are too far along to change colors now!!

Don't hurt your wrist any more with all that raking!! Most of our trees are at the far end of our property luckily...

Re the bathroom posture - I actually remember being recommended this technique when I was in the latter stages of pregnancy and to put it delicately "a little backed up" and it actually helps lol! - don't need no fancy stool, a couple of books does the trick though.

Good luck getting your floss..

I love the glove..I have a regular one and it really does help. I think yours is better for the wrist, though.

Now..go rake some leaves :)
