A Show of Hands

I started shoveling the driveway at 5am.  I left for work and got outside of town and decided to come home.  Another day off work due to inclement weather.  I spent the entire day shoveling and snowblowing the driveway.  I lost track of the number of trips out after #6.  My area got at least 8" of snow.  Here's what The Homestead looked like after the second to last cleaning.

The snow pile is taller than the bushes
and almost as tall as the lamp post!

This pile is about 5 feet tall and 10 feet wide

By the end of the day, I was so exhausted and sore!  The upside?  My pedometer said I walked over 17,700 steps and walked almost 6 miles just shoveling snow!

Until next time,

I didn't even think to wear my pedometer, lol. Good to know just how hard we worked today. Did you have to shovel an area for Celeste? We always had to shovel half the back yard for Snickers.

That is a lot of snow, we did have a lot of snow mixed with rain and ice last Thursday and it was pretty heavy but shoveled my driveway.

I didn't drive in to work today either Meari. The local school district called off in anticipation of the snow to come during the day, so I stayed home with them. The piles on either side of my driveway are just as tall as yours.

The boys and I didn't shovel until 2pm when we had about 5" and I think we got another 1 1/2" after that, but it does seem to be done now (almost 9pm).

That's why we live in Arizona! Seriously it's pretty but I could never handle all that shoveling.

At least you got a good workout while shoveling. Hopefully that's the last snowstorm for the year!

I love snow, but we don't get anything like that here! But I can see that after a while it might get a bit much :-)

It's lovely to see yet another interpretation of the Hardanger projects -- would you be happy for me to put them in the SAL Gallery? They's make a lovely colourful addition; I don't think we have many yet with coloured Kloster blocks!

Yes, that is a good upside. By the way, one of those gloved hands up there is mine. ;)

I don't envy you having to shovel snow. I'm glad everything here just shuts down when it snows!

Happy Trails,

I am with you there, winter can't go away fast enough for me. We are looking at another Nor'easter for tomorrow going into Friday with predicted 6-8 inches of snow --- AGAIN!! I am tired of seeing snow, and rain.

Oh, you poor thing--I can't imagine all of that shoveling!! At least you'll have some lovely looking muscles to show for it :)

Dear Meari I feel tired just looking at all that snow. It looks so beautiful but I am sure you are sick of all the extra work it brings for you.

I can't imagine having to deal with that much snow even once. I hope your weather improves soon.

Just catching up, since I left on vacation on Feb 22. Just when the snow started piling up on you! Great job on JG, you may finish it yet! And good luck with the surger. We did miss the snow of the season while we were gone. So our daughter's boyfriend got to plow our drive. The bad news? Our furnace went out and we have to put a new one in tomorrow!

You did shovel a great deal of snow!
