Terrific Thursday!

Thursdays are terrific, right?  They mean only one more day until the weekend. And this weekend is a holiday weekend, which makes it even more terrific! :)

WORK
Last week, I showed the squares I contributed toward the Fundraiser Quilt that will be raffled off. Excitedly, we all laid out the squares... arranged, and rearranged the squares until we were all happy with the outcome. Here's the mock up of our squares:

Here's some close ups:

Each of us took a row and sewed the two-toned red sashing onto the squares. It was tricky seeing as some "quilters" weren't very accurate in their square sizes. I had to make sure each square was 12.5" and had to do some trimming and adding. Overall, I think my row turned out really well.

Over the weekend, a couple of the ladies finished sewing all the rows together and delivered the top, batting, and backing to the person who was to quilt it together for us.  Here's what it looks like *almost* finished:

I've already bought my raffle tickets!

GIVEAWAY
Tricia at The Stampers Stitches is hosting a cute giveaway. Click on over and check it out if you like tiny bears.

STITCHY STUFF
A while back, I had won a blog giveaway hosted by Chris at Tot Hill Farm Stitches.  I had totally forgotten about it until the package arrived in the mail.  What a great surprise!

Thank you, Chris!

I finished the mailart exchange piece over the weekend, but can't show a photo until it reaches its new home.  I plan on getting to the P.O. this weekend so hopefully I can show it in a week or so.

I received Summer Splendor by Little House Needleworks as a "traveling pattern".  I started stitching on it this week and am about 1/2 finished.  Haven't gotten around to take a progress photo yet.
Since I'm thinking it'll be finished soon, I think I'll just wait until I have a finish to show.

Until next time,

WOW!!!! That quilt is gorgeous!!!! Everyone did a great job on the squares. Your exchange package is beautiful. Love Blackbird designs. I am going to enjoy watching you stitch it up. Looking forward to seeing a photo of your LHN traveling project. Stay cool. We are still having some triple digit weather with the humidity pretty high too. Looking forward to having some cooler weather here.

The quilt is gorgeous, keeping the colours limited really helps it to look coordinated; what a wonderful idea for a fundraiser :) Congratulations on your win too!

That quilt is amazing! I just started quilting myself so I know how hard it is to line things up probably, and boy do you have to! I just love how each block is unique and made by someone different!
