Memories... Memories

This was stolen from Megan.

Frequent commentors, and lurkers alike... I'd *love* to hear from you!

So who reads my blog??

1. As a comment on this post, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! And if we've never met in real life, leave me a comment of your favorite post I wrote and why it was your favorite.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually really funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

CSC Rainbow Exchange

A package of 8 items was to be sent to your assigned exchange partner. Items were to represent colors of the rainbow (orange, red, yellow, green, blue, purple, silver and gold) with five stitchy related. I received a lovely exchange from Alison in Canada.

The all arrived individually wrapped in the cutest little tote bag:

Here's what was inside:

The yellow candle smells absolutely scrumptious. I've already put it in a candle holder that sits in my dining room. I don't know what the potpourri is, but it smells like chocolate. Yummy! I've never used Northern Lights chinese floss, som I'm really excited to have some. Aren't the colors pretty?

I liked everything. Thank you Alison!

Stitching Over-One vs Over-Two

If you've only ever stitched on aida, you might be confused when a chart talks about stitching "over one" or "over two". These terms usually are used when stitching on linen and evenweave fabrics.

Stitching "over one" means you're moving your needle from one hole to the next (moving over one), such as this:

Over-one stitching is also usually done with one strand of floss. Sometimes, stitches will slip to the backside of the fabric. To avoid this, complete each X before starting the next.

In contrast, "over two" is explained HERE.

Warning! Disaster Zone Ahead

Oh wait... It's a disaster zone in -every- area of my house! It seems I have a project going in every room. For the couple rooms that don't have one going literally, there's one going on in my head.

My latest project is primering and painting the kitchen cabinets. What was I THINKING when I thought I could get it done in one weekend?!? This is all farther I got. (Of course, I suppose it would be farther along if I weren't stitching and watching the Olympics)

Marvelous Monday Update 8/11/08

School
It's hard to believe that school is starting in 9 days. Where did the summer go? I'll be starting a Principles of Management class with the same instructor I had for B-Law. It should be "interesting".

Fitness Routine
I started using a new cardio and ab workout last Tuesday. Jeff Costa's Sexy Abs video is only 15 minutes long. The first two times I used it, I could definitely feel it. What I *love* about this workout is it's a standing ab workout, rather than lying on the floor. I only got part way through the cardio routine... and my legs were a bit sore. I did the cardio workout 3 days and the ab workout 4 days. I'm wondering how long before I see results on my abs? LOL

Olympic Games
I thought the opening ceremony was absolutely stunning! China did a great job showing off their history and creativity in what I thought was phenomenal entertainment. Who was gripping the seat of their pants when Michael Phelps won his first gold? I know I was!!

Stitchy Stuff
As I was browsing my Yahoo groups, I realized that *my* projects are being featured on THREE groups:

Stitching Sisters
Chatty Stitching Exchangers
Cross Stitch Forever

How COOL is that?!! Three groups, three different projects, all at the same time. :)

I started a new project last week called "Believe". It's a "Take Alongs" kit by The Trilogy given to me by Mercy. After 7.25 hours, this is what it looks like:

It's about 1/2 done. I'm trying to figure out how to "finish" it. I screwed up the stocking. The stripes are supposed to be the opposite of what they are. Can't tell, can you?
