This year, I decided to particate in the Stitch From Stash challenge coordinated by Mel at Epic Stitching. The idea is (obviously) to stitch from our stash to reduce spending. I also look at it as a way to focus on reducing my accumulation of stash.
For the month of January, I have been stitching on Thinking Positive by Nathalie Cichon at Jardin Prive. I hope to have it finished by the first week in February.

All of the materials came from my stash:
Fabric: 32ct Opalescent Luguna - Heritage by Enchanting Lair
Fibers: DMC, Weeks Dye Works
I also pulled out Japanese Garden. With any luck, I hope to have it finished by the end of 2014.

I did the purple specialty stitches on the right side and the water/bridge on the right. I also did the blue sparklies in both crane medallions. It's been quite a while since I've seen the bottom part of the pagoda!

Since I started this in December 2005, all items definitely have come from my stash.
Love the Japanese Garden you are doing great and what a great idea this sal is to reduce stash. I was trying to do the same this year but I have already started new things. I just cannot say no.

YOur Japanese Garden is just gorgeous. Your stitching is very neat too...my stitches look different, i.e. each one differs from the other. Anyway, just lovely!Christina

I have been trying to stitch form my stash as well, especially my floss stash. Although it is hard not to pick a skein or two when I am out shopping. I am sure you will complete Japanese Garden. It is always a pleasure to visit your blog.

Wasn't me jeering from up there honest! Love JP! I am with you in Stitch from Stash. Been relatively pain free so far, I don't do much internet shopping unlike some I could mention, lol, no problem with the button! and my LNS is half an hour away. We will have to meet up at Welcome Stitchery one of these days!
