Stitch From Stash - September

It seems like I just reported for SFS duty not that long ago.  It seems to have snuck up on me for September... it's time once again to report on the Stitch From Stash challenge coordinated by Mel at Epic Stitching.  The idea of SFS is to stitch from our stash to reduce spending.

I didn't fare so well during the month of September.  Brooke's Books Publishing had an overstock sale going on and I ended up spending $20 on bunch of charts.

I put away Eight Immortals so that I could make more progress on Heart of America.  Coincidentally, I finished the heart motif the evening before my Mom passed away.  I changed the bottom of the flag motif to extend the vine and flowers rather than have the year stitched twice on the design.  Currently, I'm working on the last motif at the bottom.  I hope to have a finish within a couple of weeks.

Until the next SFS,

  2. After what you have been thru this year, I'd say you've earned yourself a 20.00 shopping spree! Enjoy -- Heart of America is looking good. I did that one on tea dyed fabric a few years ago. It was a fun stitch. Judi in Phoenix

Wish I had known about the sale at Brooke's Books, never mind I've plenty of stash to keep me going. :)

  7. My deepest condolences dear Meari. I haven't visit your blog for a very long time - it looks like many things happen during that time.

You did very well on the SFS.

  8. I was tempted by that sale too....but the exchange rate and the fact that I had gone and indexed all the charts I had stopped me from getting them!
Beautiful stitching on the hearts piece

  13. Lovely stash you got, my favorites are the halloween ones, especially spooky critters. Heart is looking gorgeous too. Hopefully working on this lovely project has been able to bring you a bit of piece at times. Sue

  14. Heart of America looks great, Meari. I'm sure you'll do better on the savings part next time. Sometimes you can't say no to a great sale. :-)
