A few months ago, I met a lady through
Freecycle who said she had a bunch of cross stitch stuff but it was packed in boxes and she didn't have time go through all the boxes at that time. She said she'd go through it and get back to me. In the meantime, every few weeks I received an email from her telling me that she hadn't forgotten and updated me on the latest happenings in her life... planning a wedding, buying a house, moving, etc. The day finally came that she found most of her stash and we arranged for her to drop it off at my house today! During my face-to-face conversation with her, she told me how glad she was to find someone to take it because she was just going to THROW IT AWAY. Can you believe that?!?
I haven't really had a chance to look at everything, but I did take pics of everything:
Fabric More Fabric Charts More Charts Magazines KitsBefore she left, she asked me "Would you want anything else if I find the rest?" I said: "Sure!" LOL

What a wonderful gift this woman gave you! You are one very lucky girl!
Gee, no I don't want any more stash I'm all full up! LOL You received a great stash haul. I can't imagine someone giving all that up. When I stopped stitching for a few years it never crossed my mind to get rid of it.
Very lucky lady indeed!!! WOW where do I find my friend like this one...lol
WOW! What a great haul...and it was all FREE! I need to put a post on Freecycle to see if anyone out there has some stitching stash they want to get rid of... :-)
OMG, you are one lucky lady!! You'll have enough to keep you in fabric and stash for a long long time
Well what cross stitcher would say no? Not me for sure!
My goodness. That is a LOT of stash! Even if you use only one or two pieces from it, it's still quite a find. It sort of reminds me of the early days of Ebay, when kids were cleaning out their parents house and offering flosses and fabrics at bargain prices because they had no idea how much it was actually worth.
Holy stash batman! :-)
How lucky you are! Go Freecycle.
Enjoy your new toys!
Holy Cow and she was going to throw it away. Oh my gosh. What a lovely stash surprise to you. Can't wait to see some of this done. LOL
Good for you. Today was your lucky day. I hope that you find you can use almost all of it. Stitch fast, now.

Oh my goodness! And she was going to throw all of that away? I'm glad you were able to avert that crisis and end up with an impressive stash haul in the process. :)
Wow Meari - what a wonderful haul!! And to think she would have just binned it too! Freecycle's not big over here in the UK - wish it were!!
Thank goodness the stash is with you!! And not in a litter bin : )
Man, you made out like a bandit! Whatever will you do with it all? It will take you a few days just to go through all those mags. Is the material she gave you mostly aida? Lucky you to end up with all her stash! I' sure there are a lot of things you won't want to stitch. You could probably sell a lot of it on Ebay
WOW lady you hit the treasure chest.... you are sure making me drooooollll!!!!!!!!!
Wow!!! Your stitching angel was right beside you the time you met her. God bless her for her kindness, sure you will give a good use to it!
All I can say is WOW, you sure got lucky with that, and the stash got a lovely new home. What a win win situation for you both. :)
