My college was putting on their summer theatre production... Little Shop of Horrors.
Seymour is a nerdy orphan working at Mushnik's, a run-down flower shop in urban Skid Row. He harbors a crush on fellow co-worker Audrey, and is berated by Mr. Mushnik daily. In an effort to bring customers into the business, Seymour suggests displaying a new mysterious unidentified plant which he calls Audrey II. The plant seems to have a craving for blood. As Seymour's infatuation for Audrey grows, as does the plant's appetite and it begins to sing for his supper... FEED ME! Soon enough, Seymour feeds Audrey's sadistic dentist boyfriend to the plant and later, Mushnik for concluding what happened to Audrey's ex. The ending of this production shows Seymour walking in on Audrey being eaten by the plant. In desperation, Seymour jumps down the plant's throat with the intention of hacking it to death from the inside out... an effort to save the world from this blood thirsty plant.
I have to say this comic musical went WAY BEYOND my expectations! The sets were made by the art dept and the student performances were absolutely phenomenal. A complete orchestral (in the pit) rounded out this fantastic play. I *really* enjoyed it.

sounds great! Glad to hear u had such a nice time!
very cool....I've seen the movie and LOVE IT! I bet the play was awesome!
Although I have never seen a stage production, I have seen the movie dozens of time. I even own the recalled movie version with the alternative (director's) ending. I's have a hard time sitting still during the play as I would want to sing along with every song.
Live performances have a magic all their own. :-)
Sounds like fun!
