Windows of Joy

Tada! My first finish of 2008 is an ornament from the Dec issue of Gift of Stitching. It's Windows of Joy by Primrose Needleworks. Using 18ct fiddlers aida with DMC threads, it took me 4.5 hours to stitch. I changed the colors of the snowflakes to lighter shades of blue instead of the tan and white called for in the chart. I also used Kreinik blending filament with the lightest shade of blue to give it a little sparkle. Finishing it into an ornament took about another hour. The pre-made red and gold cording sets off the design really well.

Joy turned out lovely. I like your color change on the snowflakes, and the bit of sparkle is perfect. I often add some treasure braid to my snow to give it a hint of sparkle too. Congratulations on your first finish for 2008.

Meari I love it! Where do you get your cording from? I swear there is not ONE store here in NYC that sells cording small enough to finish ornaments :-( Hmmm there probably is but I just don't look maybe now that I think of it I could ask my aunt. hehe
