Marvelous Monday Update 4/8/13

Marvelous Monday... maybe, if I had gotten enough sleep last night. I don't know why, but I just couldn't get to sleep! I read, tried to count backwards (usually a sure thing), and even got up to watch a movie with the sound wayyy down low. I finally went back to bed around 1:30am. The alarm goes off at 5am. Ugh!

STITCHY STUFF
I finished all the details in Yuku's hair as well as the upper part of the kimono collar... lots of backstitching and French knots. While working on her, I kept up with decades of tradition by watching the Peanuts Easter "specials" and caught the Fat Albert Easter special as well. Hey, hey, hey!

Last week, I had stopped at a consignment shop and picked up a Patriotic chart and frame for $4. Turns out the chart sells for $6 and the frame is a special order for $20. What a great deal!

Welcome To My Home is coming right along. It's the project I work on during my lunch hour. Here's what it looked like before:

Here it is with a bit more progress:

I've even worked on Japanese Garden. I am almost at the 1/2 point! Here's what it looked like before:

Wowza! All of your stitchy pieces look fabulous! Lots of progress on each one; love Yuku!

I know what you mean about not sleeping; I don't work, but it is still awful when you are up and down, up and down! lol Hope you manage some much needed rest tonight.

Hugs,
Sue

Don't you love to get bargains at the thrift stores? Except I never find stitchy stuff. Maybe if I went more often? Great progress on your stitching.

Your stitching looks great! You've made LOTS of progress on JG! I often have trouble sleeping. I've found that having white noise on and the bedroom completely dark works the best for me.

Wow you have gotten a lot done! I am impressed. It all looks wonderful!

Love those stitchy pics. They all look great.

Sorry you weren't able to catch those Z's. I hate when our minds won't let us sleep.

Your making great progress on those projects and they are looking awesome!

Someone told me once that if you have trouble falling asleep to lay in bed and try to stay awake. Works for me every time. We had some really strong storms roll through last night and the thunder and lightening were really loud and bright.

Gorgeous stitching and progress. I am so sorry about the sleep thing. I hope that it is only a one night problem.

Don't you hate it when you don't get a good night's sleep, Meari? I've been having trouble lately which is unusual--just too many things on my mind...

Wonderful progress on your WIPs--how nice that you can stitch on your lunch hour, too! You always spot the greatest deals in thrift shops!! Love the frame and chart you snagged this time :)

Everything looks great!!! Sorry that you couldn't get to sleep. That just makes the next day so sluggish. Hoping you get a good nights rest from now on.

I can't sleep either buyt it goes something like this: "I wish I could sleep.... but my silly A.D.D. kicks in and.... one sheep, two sheep, cow, turtle, duck, Old McDonald had a farm... HEEEY Macarena!" (saw it on an ecard and said that's totally based on me! lol)
