Stitch From Stash - July

Time to report on the Stitch From Stash challenge coordinated by Mel at Epic Stitching.  At over the halfway point, I think I've done pretty well.  The idea of SFS is to stitch from our stash to reduce spending.  I also look at it as a way to focus on reducing my accumulation of stash.  Actually it's fun to "shop" from our own stash.

During the month of July, I didn't spend a thing.

I had a couple of quick finishes since the June report:

Penguin and Snowman Sledding Friends
Designer: Foxwood Crossings

I started a new project called Heart of America.  I thought it was an appropriate project to start on the 4th of July.  It's a 2008 special release by Little House Needleworks.

I'm stitching it on 32ct Jobelan fabric called Bay Rum with Crescent Colours floss.  I didn't like how the white showed up on the Bay Rum, so I swapped it out for Weeks Dye Works peach.  How does the word "Peace" look with it?

I did a tiny bit on N is for Nurse.  (Photo in previous post).

Didn't work on JG last month, but hope to get back to it soon.

Until the next SFS,

Oh gosh, I think my stitch from stash has gone down the pan. Bought quite a lot one way or another over the last two or three months. Mostly Jane Greenoff kits, though I have also bought several of her books, including the 30th Anniversary edition of her sampler book. Only bought it because of the etui, definitely a must do – eventually!

Heart of America looks great! My laptop has a poor display, but I think the color you chose for peace looks good. Congrats on not spending a thing.

Well, I don’t know how you managed to last a whole month without spending anything on your stitching. I’m lucky if I last a few days now that I can shop on line, Lol!
How sweet are your cute sledges and the ‘Heart of America’ sampler is beautiful….I’m loving the colours.
Happy Stitching!

The peach seems to need more "hmph" to be seen, but with photos its kind of a guess. I too am saving quite a bit of money with this challenge.

Your stitching looks great, Meari! In the picture, the peach is hard to see. If it's hard to see in real life, maybe backstitch it in a slightly darker color? Or use the white and backstitch in peach?

Those little sleds are the cutest, Meari! And I love the LHN piece. I have it in my stash but haven't begun stitching it yet.

Thinking of you and your parents...

Cute finishes! Love your new project, too! I'm not sure about the peach ~ it looks kind of light, but I'm not the best at choosing colors. :)

Could not comment on site for some reason, congrats on not spending anything. LOVE those sleds, did they come that was or did you have to affix the cross stitch in there somehow??
