Last year, I did the Monthly SAL designed by Palko, a Hungarian stitcher. For the 2016 SAL, she compiled a sampler called Words. Here's my floss toss:
If the fabric and colors look familiar, they should. I used the same fabric and all the colors except the red for Purple Garden back in 2011. I also used the fabric for Petal Pincushion in 2014. I'm thinking about swapping the red for a dark mauve. I'll decide once I get more into the design. Without further adieu, here's Part 1:
If anyone wants to attempt a flatfold finish, I have a tutorial on my left sidebar. No sewing is required (and I'm available for questions!).
Oh shoot! Since I got my lamp fixed, I stitched on JG. I forgot to take a photo. Stay tuned for next time. :)

Love your flatfold finishes, and the new start looks really nice as well.
Your flatfolds are lovely Meari! It's one of the many finishes I have yet to try!
Your 'words' start looks great. I really like your fiber and fabric combination. Way to go on your flat fold finishes. Both are darling. Have a great week!
Oh I love the added touch of the border. Great job!! Love your two finished finishes too. Wohoo!
Lovely finishes.

Lovely pieces and I like your flat fold ... I haven't tried that yet. I've stitched the Life's a Stitch and made a pincushion out of it.
Great finishes! I'm going to have to try the flat-fold finish.
Great finishes Meari and I love how your finished them off into flat folds. LOVE the border you changed to for the Words SAL.
I have to agree - your flatfolds are like WOW. They are just perfect. So Cute.
You continue to amaze me with your home improvement skills - and the fact that you even attempt these projects - so out of my comfort zone.
I have really enjoyed all the different Colors for Words - I am not doing this SAL but am loving everyone elses
I checked out the site you highlighted but nothing about joining the SAL. IS it still possible? Was this a free sampler or something to buy? Look beautiful.

Cute flat folds. I may be asking you questions later in the year as we may be turning some of my Christmas pieces into flatfolds. I love what you have done to your SAL. Great job so far.
You are one amazing woman, Meari! I probably wouldn't even attempt to fix a broken lamp - congratulations on a task well done! Also, your flatfolds are really cute. I need to try that some day - and may be taking you up on your offer of answering questions - LOL.

Great job on the flatfold finishes! They looks beautiful and i sure envey your lovely fabrics.
I love the way you displayed your finishes. Such beautiful stitching!
I like your purple looks great! Good going with your lamp, I couldn't stitch without mine. We are having warm weather yesterday we were at 50 and today it got up to 63 we are having weather braking tempters. We are expecting cold soon, but first we will have a rain storm. No plow guy this time!

Aren't flatfolds a great way to finish our items. Yours are adorable. I love that floss and fabric combination.
Two darling flatfold finishes, Meari! And thank you for the tutorial--if I ever decide to try one, I will remember to check it :)
Glad the light is fixed and more progress on that gorgeous Japanese Garden in underway!! Happy February to you :)

Lovely new start! The flatfolds look amazing.
Your stitching is lovely and I really love your flatfold instructions. I will definitely try this.
Adorable finishes! I've been wanting to do Life's a stitch since a long time ago, it's so cute!
Your two first finishes this year are adorable. And so nicely finished into flat folds. That Joan Elliott design is really very special. And a great new start on Palko's SAL.
Glad you were able to fix your lamp, Meari. I'm always impressed with how handy you are. Your first two finishes are so cute. I really need to read your tutorial on flat folds. I have a couple of pieces at home that I think I want to finish as flat folds, but I have no idea how to do it...yet...lol
