Since yesterday was the Labor Day holiday, I didn't get my MM update done. Did ya'll miss me? I actually had a 5-day holiday since last Thursday and Friday were vacation days for me. Didn't go anywhere special. Just did things around the house, and wasn't too productive at that!
Speaking of the holiday... Yesterday, I went to a Labor Day Parade and festival in a nearby community. The parade was awesome, if you're into that sort of thing. Lots of tractors and farm machinery (Afterall, I'm in the midwest -- farm communities galore!), local school band and sports teams, as well as businesses participated in the parade. I thought it odd that one of the building contractors from *my* city participated in the parade with a banner that said Home Makeover on the side of it.
Well guess what I heard on the radio today?! MY county was chosen to have an Extreme Home Makeover! Yes, like the TV show. Who or where hasn't been released yet, but it will be done by September 15th. How cool is that?!?
WEATHER
The temps have been in the 70's during the day and much cooler at night. While it's nice not to have the humidity, the allergens are still making me miserable! Plus, I'm not ready for that four letter word.... S-N-O-W! We barely had a summer season! Now it's already getting cold and daylight hours are much shorter. *sniffle*
STITCHY STUFF
Not much stitching done this past week, but I did manage to work on my Treasured Memories Quilt Afghan. One more quilt square motif done!
I started another one, but it doesn't look like anything so I didn't feel like sharing a photo. Older pics of this UFO can be seen HERE. This (hopefully) going to be my next UFO to finish.
My plan is to alernate between working on TMQ and JG. I've been dragging my feet on JG because I'm not a big fan of over-one stitching or dark colors... The section I'm working on is BOTH. *ack*

More vacation time along with the other week off? Good for you! Nice section on the UFO to get done. Quit complaining about JG and JUST DO IT...to quote Nike. LOL
Hi Meari -
Sounds like our weekends were about the same. Hte kids really enjoyed the stickers and they send many thanks.
Take it easy!!

Pretty square! Will be really beautiful when done. :)
The quilt looks great! Lucky dog for a 5 day weekend.
Love your quilt square design!! That is so cool that Extreme Home Makeover is in your county...keep us updated on who gets their house done!!
Happy Belated Labor Day Meari!
Fun update. Looking forward to seeing the Extreme Makeover episode from your county. Please let us all know when it gets scheduled for airing.
The cartoon is too cute! And that is very exciting that you will get to see a makeover edition. :)
I'm glad you had a relaxing weekend. I can sympathize with you with the cooler temps and allergies. I miss the sun being out after 7pm. It's 7:19pm now and while it's not completely dark, it's dark enough. Sigh.
I love your Labor Day cliparts.
Congrats on getting another motif finished!
Have a great week!
Hugs!
The weather has been wierd this summer...we haven't had to drag the sprinklers around at all, but are mowing like crazy! I had to do that today, and am sure I will be paying for it tomorrow.
Very cool about the Extreme Makeover show!
Your quilt square looks so pretty, and your earlier finish of Comedy/Tragdy looks wonderful too. What a creative way to use the spoon rack, love the way the scissors and such can be displayed.

Cold? Hah! We are thrilled if it gets to 68 at night. Been 98 during the day but that is better than 105. Love your stitching and glad you had a good time on your time off!
Well, i missed you, Meari. Good you had a 5-day holiday!! You see i had a 6-day work week, lol. We balanced!!
can't wait to see the finished quilt!Did I miss something about the BF, haven't seen much about him?
JG is going to be so lovely when you are finished and well worth the effort, so I hope that you'll muster the courage to plunge in and stitch on it again. Very cool that someone in your county is going to be experiencing an extreme makeover. I really like that show; they do wonderful things for deserving people. BTW, I think I owe you some information on my dyed fabric that faded, right? I accidentally nuked your emails after they came in, which is why I haven't responded. I used RIT dyes and I think I used them according to the package instructions (though I've long since thrown away the packages, sealing the dyes in separate ziploc bags instead). If you have other questions, just email me again and I'll try not to delete it this time. LOL. Also, I have a question for you about Celeste, as we are looking into getting another Pomeranian or two since Phoebe has passed on. I'd like to get some info. from you on your experiences with Celeste, so please email me when you have a chance. Thanks!
You high temp is below our low temp...sure would love to trade with you LOL
The Afghan looks really good, great project for the winter months.
Nice stitching.
How cool for Home Makeover coming to your county. They did a house in a neighboring town from me a couple years ago. And would you believe that I didn't even go to see any of it? LOL Love the comic - it's so very true!

Funny you mention Extreme Makeover:Home Edition -- they're actually right here in my county this week doing a build! They knocked on the door last weekend and started building on Monday...I think the reveal is set for this coming weeekend sometime..?? Clint Black is going to be here to meet the family, and Exzibit from some MTV show (shows what I know) has been here all week as well. Interesting.
