Marvelous Monday Update 10/5/09

Holy smokes, Batman! It's October already. Unfoturnately, I don't have any exciting stories from last week. No Ms. Fix-Its... no homestead updates... no critters... no cooking... no accidents, even. Pretty ho-hum stuff around here.

It's been cold and rainy here. Several times in the past week, I've been tempted to turn on the heat because of the cold, damp weather. Brrr!

Here's how last Saturday morning went:

{Look outside}
Self: "Hey it's not raining. I can get the garden cleaned out."

{Put on shoes}
Self: "Crap, it's raining."

{Take off shoes}
Self: "I'll just do a few things inside."

About 30 minutes later...

{Look outside}
Self: "Hey, it's not raining. Better get outside."

{Put on shoes}
Self: "Dang it. It's raining again!"

Sounds like a bad cartoon strip, doesn't it? I ended up taking my shoes off and decided I'd just take advantage of the "indoor time" to dig out my winter clothes, put away my summer ones, and purge closets/drawers of things I haven't worn... and probably won't wear.

I was thrilled to get some stitching in, too. I finished a TQM motif and started another one while watching Old World Wisconsin on TV. What a neat place! Without further adieu, may I present.... Postage Stamp Basket:

The motifs aren't very detailed, but they're great
for those days you want to stitch but don't really
want to think too hard and/or want many color
changes. :)

I also went through a bunch of my charts/leaflets. Decided there were a lot of them that are no longer my taste, so I'm working on scanning them and putting them on my stash-for-sale blog. What a trip down memory lane that was. Interesting how our tastes change...

That is sometimes how the weather goes around here. ;)
Great stitching and will have to take a second to look through your sale when it's all up.

Enjoy the inside time, its been doing that here as well. Been thinking of getting out the winter/fall clothes, but the minute I do it gets hot again, so what is one to do.

Great stitching, Meari. Isn't it funny how one year we can find so many great charts/kits we love, then turn around a few years or even months later and wonder why we ever bought it. I've done that more than once.

Inside time is good, I always like mine. And it looks like I will have one tomorrow... I didn't put my winter tires yet and it is snowing and raining here, it should be below zero tonight and I do not like black ice in the morning, so I worned my boss today that I could not come to work tomorrow...

Meari,
Your Saturday sounds like our weekend. We didn't want to step out of the house because we get the howling winds. The winds howl when the weather decides to cool off or warm up. Ours cooled down. It was only 67 yesterday. We live in the desert. It isn't supposed to be this cool until December or January. We will warm up by the weekend back to the 80's...

Your motif is really pretty. I love those colors.

I hope your week clears up for you.

Pretty colors in those motifs.

As for the rainy conversation.... Our weather was rather similar but I was outdoor all day. Dog shows are rain orshine. :)

Tell me you've turned on your heat by now!!! We did ours the end of Sept I think! And you know that crappy weather you have.....well we get it about 12 hours later or less.

Your stitching looks lovely, and perfect for when you don't want to concentrate to hard. Your weather sounds like what we've been having here. Cold and drizzly/rainy most days. It did stop yesterday long enough so I could finally mow. I soooo miss summer, especially as since this past summer seemed colder and wetter than normal it almost seems like summer missed us this year, spring moved into late fall and just bypassed it.
