Simply Elegant Scissor Case and Fob

Simply Elegant Scissor Case and Fob are finished... Woo Hoo!

Designer: Lorri Birmingham Designs
Started: February 2009 ~ Finished March 2012
Fabric: 28ct Zweigert Cream Linen
Fibers: Needle Necessities, DMC, Kreinik
Embellishments: Satin Ribbon, Pearl Beads, Crystal Heart,
Czech Crystals, and Handmade Cording and Tassel

The pink fabric is what I used for the lining and the back of the fob. I think it looks really good with the stitching. These projects contained several specialty stitches I'd never done before: Rhodes Butterflies, Queen Stitches, Diagonal Queen Stitches, and Hardanger. While I think both turned out beautiful, the instructions on how to assemble each one left a lot to the imagination. I think someone with little finishing experience would've been extremely frustrated.

Now that I have another UFO finished, you know what that means? It means I am starting some new projects!!

Hooray! Good for you! I rarely challenge myself with stitches I don't know, I should. Beautiful, beautiful!

Absolutely gorgeous Meari! The fob and scissor case look professionally done; you do such beautiful work and your finishing techniques are perfect!

It is cooler here today; we are dropping back to some winter temps also.

I sure hope your puncture wound is feeling much better!

Hugs,
Sue

Congrats on the finish. They came out really nice. It will seem funny not seeing it listed in your currently stitching on.

I'm drooling over the scissor case and fob! Oh, but you already knew I would because your stitching is beautiful and you used my favorite color - PINK! Did you make or buy that tassel?

Congrats on the finish!!!

that's gorgeous!

Very pretty! I know what you mean about instructions. People probably by a kit like that thinking the instructions are perfect for finishing and then they find out its not so easy and give up on trying to finish things themselves using other techniques!
