Marvelous Monday Update 12/22/08

School
Grades were supposed to be posted last Tuesday. Chomp, chomp, chomping at the bit... I was logging into the college's website all morning. Not being able to stand it anymore, I called the school to ask *when* they were going to be posted. LOL One-thrity PM rolls around and grades STILL aren't posted. So I went to lunch (Hey, a girl's gotta eat!). When I got back, I hurriedly logged in for the 50th time of the day. Good thing there's not a limit on the number of times a student can log into their account!

All I want for Christmas is... my two front teeth... no wait, wrong song. I just wanted a "B". That's all... just a "B" and I'd be happy! What did I get????

I AM HAPPY!!! With the conclusion of this class, I will be receiving my degree in Accounting. Woo Hoo!!

Weather
*sigh* Last Tuesday, my area received another 4.5". Lucky us -- We had a day's reprieve before the really fun stuff started. Thursday night, we received 9"! Then on Saturday night, we got another 2-3". That makes 43" of snow so far in the month of December and technically it wasn't even winter until Sunday! There was a lot of blowing and drifting snow on Sunday with a high of -3F and windchill temps of 27 below zero. I had to go out twice on Sunday to blow and shovel the drifted snow from my driveway. Brrr!

Work
I had two photo shoots scheduled again for Thursday and Friday last week. With the weather forecast calling for snow and ice on Friday, I had the marketing department reschedule everyone to Thursday only. That meant I had to photograph 40+ employees! Here's a few I did on Thursday:

I did manage to figure out how to color correct some of the ones I took last week that either had a blue cast, or were too dark. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

Holiday Decorating
I decided not to put up my big tree this year. Instead, I put up two little trees. One is in my dining room, the other is in the living room. Both are decorated with stitched ornaments.

Since it was too cold and nasty to go anywhere, I did my holiday baking. All said and done, I baked over 10 dozen cookies in 4 varieties.

Stitchy Stuff
I was the lucky winner of a giveaway on the Stitching Bloggers group! I remembered signing up, but I couldn't remember what I won. LOOK!!!

10 skeins Victoria Clayton silk floss!

Thank you Sharon!

Congratulation on your degree in Accounting - well done! Your trees look great and you might be having more snow than we here in FINland :) Though it is snowing at the moment... We have been baling too, rolls, cinnamon buns and Xmas prune tarts! Yummy!

Wishing you a very merry Christmas!

Meari, congrats on the B!!! And both of your trees look great. I am thinking of stitching ornaments and putting up a tree next year. And I started a new stitching blog yesterday. I really missed blogging! So, check it out when you get a minute.

Meari,
Congratulations on your degree in Accounting. Way to go! We were supposed to get snow last week. That whole day we got nothing. No rain, snow, nothing. Everyone around us was getting snow. Are you going to do picture taking as a side project? Your great with the camera. I love your stitching tree and those cookies look delicious! Merry Christmas!

Hey, I think I remember that snowy scene from last year!! Wasn't there a cute snow plow guy, too, Meari?? :) I must be feeling better, huh? Love your trees, and I'm so happy for you that you got the "B" that I'm sure you well deserved. Merry Christmas, dear stitchy friend! Hugs, Deb

Ok, you have me beat on the amount of snow, but we still have 6" on the ground and -0 temps! But I have Carl to *blow* it! Lovely silks and congrats on finishing the last class with a B! Looks like some fun exchanges. I too love that little box!!! Of course it would sit around here unfinished and yours will be done in no time!
