With recent weather conditions, I need more than a tortilla! Everyone in the midwest is asking, "Will this ever end?!?" According to the news, so far this is the 8th worst winter weather on record. My area has received over 35" of snow since December 1st. That's about 12" above average. While it's a good workout and aids in my getting the 10,000 steps in per day, I'm also tired of the snow, ice, and cold.
BELATED BIRTHDAY
A few more cards (and floss) arrived in the mail last week.
I've really enjoyed the variety of birthday wishes that came this year.
Here's my wall of cards:
GIFT
Long time readers may remember the shelf remake I did last year. (If not, you can see it HERE.) Deb sent me a lovely teacup and matching saucer for my collection. Her note said it was her favorite pattern when she was younger. I think it's absolutely beautiful! Thank you, Deb.
STITCHY STUFF
:::happy dance::: I have my first finish of 2014. I put the final touches on Thinking Positive. The photos really don't do the opalescent fabric justice.
Designer: Jardin Prive / Nathalie Cichon
32ct Opalescent Luguna - Heritage by Enchanting Lair
Fibers: DMC, Weeks Dye Works
Edited 2/9/14: I've had quite a few requests asking which WDW threads I used for the lettering. The purple varigated is 2296 Sweet Pea. The magenta varigated 4115 Mothers Day.

Congratulations on a lovely finish!
Congrats on your finish - it sure is pretty. Your wall looks great - I've got a few blank walls I'd love to do that with!

Thinking Positive looks good Meari, congrats on your finish!
Yes, even I have to admit I'm ready for spring! That teacup is beautiful and will look lovely on your shelf.

Love the colors and fabric choice for Thinking Positive.
Meari, I loved the Positive Thinking pics....the close ups of your threads/stitching were wonderful. They help us imagine exactly how beautiful it is. Spring is just around the corner...

Hi sweetie! Happy Monday, even though it is coldddddddd....brrrr
It has warmed up here for at least this week; and we are having heavy rain today. Better than the snow.
Your Jardin Prive turned out beautiful! I saw the fabric up close and personal...lol....and it is gorgeous. Congrats on your first finish of the year.
JG I saw in person also; this is a most stunning piece of work! I know you don't have too much left to do, right? That is, if my memory is correct.
You have a great week and watch your mail toward the end of the week for your card/floss with a small package :)
Hugs,
Sue your SM
Beautiful work, Meari! Stay warm in all of that snow. Our next round will be this Weds, and they're forecasting 6-12".

Gorgeous teacup. Congrats on the finish and you WIP is looking great.
Very nice finish!! Your teacup shelf is absolutely gorgeous as well as your collections. Can't wait to try and catch up with your Blog again.
Thanks, Meari, for the picture of the teacup. I really wanted to open up the wrappings and take a peak but was afraid I'd mess up the safety for shipping. Sure happy you like it.
Deb
Congrats on your first finish of 2014. Do you intend to frame it?

Great looking finish, Meari!! And I hear you about this endless winter. We've received 20 inches more than normal for January alone! Luckily, ours has come in little by little and we've managed to escape any huge amounts at one time. To top it all off that horrid groundhog saw his shadow... At this rate we'll still be shoveling in April!
Think Positive came out fantastic! I love the teacup you received, very beautiful. I am so ready for spring to come.
Pretty finish. I am tired of this weather too. It's snowing here now, will probably do somethigng Wednesday and then they are saying over the weekend. When is it summer yet?
I feel for you in that freezing weather.
Your teacup is really beautiful & a lovely gift. I do like your first finish for 2014, it looks like it was a great stitch.
Kay.
Congrats on your 1st finish of 2014. It's lovely.

Love your finish very pretty and your tea cup is beautiful, I have a few teacups from my grandmother and they are going to my granddaughters.

LOL! I love that cartoon!! What a lot of bday cards! Great way to display them too. The teacup is so pretty and delicate. Happy dancing for your Jardin Prive!! It's a stunning finish and I see the sparkles :D HUGS!
I love the way you changed the thread to hand dyed. It makes the pattern look so different. It is lovely! How long is it? You always amaze me.
I especially loved the file cabinet.
A great first finish this year. It looks really good with the thread you used for the wording. Very nice choice.
Absolutely beautiful!

Your stitching is amazing as usual. I gotta ask ya, how have you survived that much snow? I'd be stark raving mad.
Donna
Meari,
I looked at your most recent finish, which I totally loved, then found the Jardin Prive website to find that this sampler was a free download (!!). What threads did you use on your "Happy Life?"
Thank you for sharing and your blog.

(just waiting for more snow)
I just got another 9 inches and there's another 6-8 expected tomorrow and more for the weekend.

I am like you and wish the snow and cold weather woul end soon, but we are expecting more snow tonight.
Your Positive Thinking looks very nice, finished with page 2 and will try and pick it up again soon.
Congrats on the beautiful finish! I love the fabric and floss colors.
I agree, the snow removal is a workout, but I'm getting really fed up with having to do it so much! My area is in the 6-12 inch snowfall range tonight and tomorrow. Supposedly we're going to get even more than that this weekend. My shovel is wearing out, lol!
It sure has been a heck of a winter. Ohio has been one of many states that has been hit hard by the weather conditions. Been spending as much time as possible at home and hiding under the covers where it is warm! Beautiful finish!! Have a good week!
Nice finish!
It's -35 (wind chill) here today. Such fun! We don't have a ton of snow though. All I can do is stay in and stitch :)
Hi Meari,
Congratulations on your first 2014 finish! I love the way it turned out.

The sampler turned out beautifully. I can sympathize with the winter woes....we've had more snow here in WI than usual also, along with the frigid & bitter cold temps and winds. I'm ready for spring!
Meari I know what you mean about being tired of this weather!! I have been out and about only twice since this all started.....Love your stitching, I;m hoping to get back to my sampler to get it finished soon too.

Wow, Thinking Positive turned out absolutely gorgeous! I love your choice of fabrics and Weeks, beautiful. If you don't mind, could you tell me what weeks colors you converted the original to? I think it's lovely.
Thanks for listing the colors you used, the lettering and all worked wonderfully.
Love your Positive Thoughts! I'm actually stitching this one also. I joined an SAL group for it on Facebook. I'm just about finished part 2.
