April Showers

I woke up at midnight and it was pouring down rain. Here's what I woke up to this morning:

This gives new meaning to the phrase "April showers..." I woke up at 6:30am and the ground was covered in white. Snow! You can't really tell, but it was actually snowing in the photo above. The forecasters are calling for 2-4" of snow for my area, but we are right on the line between MAJOR snow and rain showers so we could really get hit hard. What is this??? It's almost the middle of April. I want Spring!! I want green grass and pretty flowers!

The *best* part (if such can be said, even sarcastically) is that by the time I got into the Loop this morning, it had morphed into tiny stinging needles of ice driving their way through my hat and scarf... and how wrong is it that I even need to be wearing those in April anyway???

We had just a dusting on the grassy areas this morning, and lots of rain throughout today. I'm glad I haven't been in a hurry to plant any new flowers :)

I hate Texas with a passion, but days like this where I read blogs of people who are slogging through snow...and I'm not, well, I thank my lucky stars I'm where I'm at...for the moment, now come summer when it's 115 degrees out, that's another story! Anyway, be careful out there!

We have not had a drop of rain so far this April - we are in big trouble... I am happy with the extension of our lovely summer weather but we are so dry....
