Marvelous Monday Update 6/28/10

WILDLIFE
One of the best things about visiting my parents house is the abundant wildlife they have. Squirrels, baby raccoons, and birds galore. When I visited on Father's Day, I saw a baby hawk sitting on the brush pile. Dad and I debated about what kind of bird it was... I said hawk, he said owl. I knew it wasn't an owl since I'd caught two baby owls when I was a teenager. I really wished I'd had my good camera. These were taken with my cell phone, hence the poor quality:

Thanks Carolyn,
for reminding me I had these photos!

SCHOOL
I'm already into Week 5 of my summer semster. Only 3 more weeks to go! I'm taking Cost Accounting and can say that I probably won't be aspiring to be a cost accountant anytime soon. Yuck. I managed to finish my homework and test last week before I got down to the retreat. :) Got a "B" on the test and an "A" on the homework. Woo Hoo!

STITCHY STUFF
The postman was really nice to me last week! I won a giveaway on Carolyn's blog (Taking One Stitch At A Time). The charts arrived while I was away on retreat.

The second package contained an asian-themed scissor fob made by Karen of Sunshine Stitches. It's beautiful and my photo doesn't do it justice.

My ABC Lessons finish is featured on ESC's homepage this week!

Pretty sure it is a Kestrel, which is a smallish hawk, so Meari wins.

I just love wildlife photos, Meari--thanks for sharing this little hawk with us. Congratulations on your nice gifts and your great grades. You don't want to be a cost accountant after this class--why not??!! :)
