The Stitching Shop

A new LNS opened up just three weeks ago... only a few blocks from my house! Right now it's open only on the weekend, so I took advantage of the opportunity and made a visit. It's a nice cozy little shop that carries a lot of charts, but not so many that the shop is cluttered. Also in stock are Weeks Dye Works, Crescent Colors, Krenik Silk Mori, DMC, and Mill Hill beads. There were also lots of various fabrics. Every model in the shop was stitched and framed by the owner herself. The owner is about my age and was very friendly, and helpful. She had her laptop with her, so she let me log into my multiply albums and she took a look at my finishes. :D I came home with:

Pansy for Pam Tin Topper chart by Samplers & Such

Sweet Little Berries chart by Little House Needleworks

Quakers Rule chart and ruler by Miladys Needle

In addition, the shop owner is going to order the fabric for Quakers Rule and Stitched With Love chart by Plum Pudding Designs.

Great stash choices! But, then, I do love my Quakers! *lol* Have you done a tin topper before? I've told a friend we'll do one "together" (she's in TX, I'm in OH - should be interesting) so I've got to stitch something for one soon. If you've done one before - any words of advice?

How lucky are you to have a new LNS! Especially if they are friendly.

Nice stash you picked up. I'm sure you'll enjoy the LNS being so close to you. Your stash collection will most likely grow considerably in the near future.

I love that ruler. I think I will have to ask my LNS for that one!

That's wonderful that it sounds to be such a great LNS, and so close to you. Sounds like the owner is nice too (unfortunately I've found the two do not always go together). Have fun with your new stash, it looks lovely.
