Marvelous Monday Update 8/31/09

My week of vacation wasn't as productive as I wanted. It rained most of the week so I was limited as to what I could get done outside. Add recovery time in (from the bicycle accident) and I was limited even more.

Speaking of... my face is pretty much healed up. Just residual "pinkness" where the abrasions were. My knee is a different story. Those abrasions were much worse and are taking their sweet time healing up. I'm afraid I will be adding another scar to my repetoire.

MORE ORGANIZATION
I managed to finish another project this week. Last year when there was an LNS in the area, the shop owner had some interesting spoon display cases. I found an inexpensive spoon rack at a thrift store. After some fresh paint, it now hangs in the spare room (formerly known as "That Scary Room"):

STITCHY STUFF
Another UFO to cross off my list! *Happy Dancing* I started this project circa four years ago. After all those confetti stitches, I'm glad to have it done.

Leaflet: Slice of Life

Poor you that your knee is still hurting. :(
That spoon rack looks fantastic. Great job done.
Lovely finish. It looks great and was worth all confetti stitches. :)

Love your scissor rack and your UFO. You were busy on your vacation! Is the whole room organized now or is it just the "stash corner"? LOL

Love, absolutely love the sppon rack. What a great idea. Sorry about the knee. It seems to me that knee "boo-boos" always take forever to heal. How is JT?

What a great idea with the spoon/scissor rack! Meari, you are so talented. I love your bookmark. Can you show me how did you finish the back of it? I'm in the process of making my first ever bookmark and I have no idea what to do with the back.

Meari,
Sorry your knee is healing so slowly. I love your idea on the spoon rack. You did a great job with it. Your bookmark is cute and aren't your glad the confetti stitches are finished? I would be relieved of that process myself.

What a creative way to hang your scissors and smalls - I like it!

That is the coolest way I have ever seen of storing scissors. And, what a lovely bookmark.

Sorry your knee is still healing. I was hoping to hear you were all better.

Your new display item is beautiful. I love how it holds your scissors and some smalls. I love your bookmark finish. The colors are so pretty.

I hope your knee feels better soon. I tried Mederma for a scar I got from surgery a few years ago. Unfortunately I haven't been as faithful as I should be to use it but it does help with scars. They will still be there but not as scary as they are when you first get them. There are other similar products. Your local pharmacist or doctor should be able to tell you what might work for you.

Hugs!

So now the only WIP is JG??? I think your should put some heavy duty hours into that! Her fairy group just released the pattern this week. I bet I get that done before you finish JG, how's that for a bet? The spoon rack is a great idea and I like the needlework displayed on it too. OK, spill, what's up with men????

Your bookmark is gorgeous! What a great idea for the spoon rack. I used to collect spoons and had a number of racks, but got rid of them all. If I'd only had your great idea back then. lol Yes, I believe ALL men are seriously flawed. I've been reading all my blogs in google reader, so haven't been responding to posts. I wanted to let you know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE your chest for your stash. It is to die for. You've been doing lots of wonderful things (as usual) and I've enjoyed reading all your posts. Hope your knee heals up ASAP!

Oh, your display case is so pretty! What a great idea! Sorry you weren't able to get as much done, but my Grams is convinced that we don't die with unfinished business, so I think that makes me feel better when my list is only have complete!
I was able to change to comments to "tea party" by clicking on the layout, then editting the "post" box. Let me know if that doesn't help ...

I love that bookmark. A bit ashamed to admit it but I would have probably skipped the confetti. Maybe do it on a sprayed fabric.
