If you had to choose, would you rather spend money on overdyed floss or hand-dyed fabric?
I've got some of each, and I'd have to say I prefer to spend my $$ on hand-dyed floss. I can dye my own fabric to my liking on a per project basis. Dyeing floss is another thing entirely. With the exception of SSS (which I got a really GOOD deal on), I usually buy the hand-dyed floss on a as needed basis.

I have used over dyed floss and I really like it ~ however one of my current projects I am doing on hand dyed fabric & it's great! And of course I have been eyeballing some other hand dyed fabric at my LNS! So as to which I would spend my money on? I would have to say the floss also. Since you are absolutely right about being able to dye the fabric without having to buy it :~)
I vote for over-dyed floss. I love the over-dyes!!! I have very little hand-dyed fabric and usually end up using a plain fabric for my projects.
I have never used any hand dyed or overdyed floss....
So until recently I would have said Hand dyed fabrics...
But through the world of online groups and blogs I have been slowly getting the urge to try to dye some fabric on my own.
So I guess now I would answer that question differently and say hand dyed or overdyed floss.
Up to this point I have only used hand dyed fabrics.... and not floss. I would like to try it though. But as for what I would spend my money on I would have to say... hand dyed fabrics. I have dyed a few myself, but I am just a novice, and not as pretty as others.
And as a side note, I love your How-to info!! I found your blog a while back in the ILCS yahoo board.
Hands down I'd choose floss. I really love these, too.
I'm a fabric person...threads are plentiful, but if you don't have fabric, what good are they? LOL
After just getting lots of SSS, I think I'd spend my money on the hand-dyed fabric. I really should try dying some myself and then see if my answer would change.
