One of Life's Embarassing Moments

My Mom was kind of enough to wash all my clothes that were laying on the basement floor when the flood occurred. This included almost ALL my intimate apparel. My parents live in the country on a fixed single income and are frugal when it comes to using the dryer. Needless to say, my mother hung ALL my intimates on the clothesline outside. It's far enough away from the road that the neighbors couldn't see. However, my DAD could. I could tell my mother was embarassed by all my silk and lace underthings by the comment she made: "I hided 'em under your pants in the basket." LOL Who's she hiding them from?

Meari, That is so cute, and poignant...your mom and dad, at this age, still treating you like their teenaged daughter with "daring drawers!!" :o
I'm hoping they are beautifully clean and now packed away in a safe, dry place for you!
Hugs,
Deb

LMBO! Oh that made for a perfect start to a monday morning! Ironically I NEVER fold and put the undergitches on top of a laundry basket either, but never realized it until I read this entry lol

Thanks for the giggle this morning! I can remember my grandmother hanging her 'undies' only on the inside lines, with sheets on the outside ones, so no one would see them! LOL

Have a good day!

OMG Myrna, my grandmother did the same thing. She said the nosy neighbors knew enough about her without needing to know what size drawers she wore! LOL Meari, your mom sounds really sweet.

My dad would be MORTIFIED to see any of my intimate apparel. Glad no one could see from the road, at least. ;)

LOL Meari. You wouldn't last a day in Australia! The dryer is only used in extreme situations. It's normal proceedure to hang underwear on a clothes line. Most men have seen underwear before. I hope you don't still wear cotton bloomers!

Glad to hear that you got your house. It's going to be a wonderful experience!
