Both my brother’s have large homes – Guess who is hosting Christmas this year? Moi.
My parent’s kitchen is being remodeled so they can’t host Christmas like they usually do. Since none of the siblings wanted to step up, it’s going to be at my house. With everything that’s been going on, I wasn’t planning on putting up my tree this year, but now that Christmas is going to be at my house I’ll have to.
It also means that I will have to unpack or do something with the boxes sitting around. On the upside, my mother will be cooking dinner… at my house.
Am I crazy? Like I don’t have enough to do that I volunteer to have Christmas. Sometimes, I think I need someone to save me from myself…LOL I need to learn the phrase: “Just Say No!”
Another positive thing is that my first Christmas in my new home will be filled with family. Maybe I can get a full family portrait. Haven’t had one of those in probably 10 years.

You are a very good daughter and even better sister. (Although your brothers are way too self absorbed to realize it yet) I think it was nice to volunteer your house for Christmas dinner (especially if you don't have to cook it! Yeah!) I love to read your blog too. There is always a cute story that makes me smile or something that reminds me of something in my life. Keep up the great posting!!
I am just now reading back and catching up on your blog. Glad to hear your dad is doing better and the procedure went well. I guess your brothers are falling into that trap that the "taking care" things fall into the womens' laps. Good luck with Christmas hosting! I don't envy you at all, lol
Well, your family can really count on you, can't they? That can be both a blessing and a curse. I'm glad that you don't have to cook, at least. We host every year and cook, so I know what it's like, trying to clean up for company!
Don't tell me, you are going to have to pick up and drop off your parents on top of everything? :)
