So Much For....

... thinking this week would be less stressful. As you know from a previous post, Christmas is being held at my house. Tonight, brother #2 called me to chew me out (literally yelling) for stating that none of my siblings that have bigger homes would step up. He was also mad about my not calling him when I had an issue with his behavior. In my defense on that, I was going to talk to him about it tonight when I called him about Christmas. He didn't want to hear about that, though.

His perception is that I made him look like a lowlife and belittling him to millions of people on the internet. Now where did I state that? No where. Did I put his name out there? No.

"How would you like it if I told everybody all you do is sit around and do cross stitch?" he says. LOL, I wouldn't care a bit. Why wouldn't I care? Because there's nothing wrong with stitching, and I know that it's not the *only* thing I do. Fact is, lately I've not had a whole lot of time to stitch. Up until taking my Dad to Madison last week, I hadn't stitched in a couple weeks. Too much going on.

As an aside, my blog is a place for my thoughts and how I feel at various points in my life. (As the title says: My travels through this crazy thing called life.) Can't afford a therapist, so blogging is the next best thing...LOL

I also find it very interesting that the very same day I made the Christmas post, that he reads it (or someone tells him about it). I told him, and still believe he was over-reacting. To my credit, I maintained my composure during this "conversation" which he refers to calling me out on it.

Holidays bring out the best in families, don't they?

Sorry to hear that you got an earful, although with that response of his (or maybe over response is a better description) you have to wonder if there wasn't some guilt on his part coming into play afterall. I hope you all have a wonderful time and I'll bet your new place will look lovely decorated for Christmas.

Is this the brother I called selfish a couple days ago with regard to caring for Dad? LOL

And I agree with Sue... he's playing pass the buck.

"His perception is that I made him look like a lowlife and belittling him to millions of people on the internet." If the shoe fits... (though why anyone thinks that millions of people read our blogs is simply mind boggling. Feeling guilty some?)

I know lots of people with great ideas. They want to do this; they could do that. The question is; what DID you DO? You took your parents to Madison. You offered your new house for the family Christmas and have been working hard on getting it ready. You have helped your parents keep their driveway clear. Your brothers? Well, they are busy, busy people. I am so happy that you could keep a Zen attitude through his yelling. Been there, done that, torched the tshirt. Enjoy every stitch!

I wouldn't like to know my family members read my blog because as you said, it is a place you can tell about your thoughts. Talking about millions of persons, I'm not sure millions of persons are interested in cross stitch ! lol

I hope you will ALL have a great christmas at your house ! Maybe everybody can bring a little something or help you with the organisation.

I can relate to your family issues. My brother's wife is mad because we allowed him to store stuff at our house when they separated. Now that they are back together he has to "pretend" to be mad at us too so he won't be in the dog house. He soooo needs to grow up, actually they both do. (It sounds like your brother should do the same.) Don't let his attitude get to you; I commend you keeping your cool through the entire coversation. You go girl!

Are you serious? All you do is sit around and stitch all day? Loser. LOLOLOLOL
I think it's funny that he believes he is so interesting and important to the millions of people on the internet. Well, yeah, there is the "meari's blog fan club" where we all sit around and dish like your life is our fave soap, but other than that.....

so sorry you are dealing with so much family crap. If they don't want to know what you write, they can stop reading your blog!!!
